Over the past several years, a young Tibetan Buddhist woman named Mary [not her real name] has interacted with a number of local and foreign friends who are disciples of Jesus. During a recent trip with some of these friends, Mary began trembling and weeping during a time of worship and prayer. She told her friends that she knew that what they had been telling her about Jesus was true and that she wanted to follow him also. Mary confessed her belief in Jesus as the son of God and was baptised in a nearby river. She’s now sharing her faith with her husband. Stay tuned for the rest of the story.

When a young Tibetan Buddhist high lama made a long pilgrimage across central Asia, he found himself befriended by a peasant farmer in a backwater village. This farmer invested a month’s wages to prepare a feast fit for a high lama. Not only did the farmer provide a sumptuous meal, he told this high lama about a Jewish carpenter named Jesus. This experience launched the high lama into a serious study of the Bible, where he discovered that what the peasant farmer told him was true. Soon afterward, the high lama received Jesus as both his Lord and Savior and began debating and explaining the good news about Jesus to his fellow lamas. So far, at least twenty other Tibetan Buddhists have believed in Jesus, and a new fellowship of believers has begun. Pray for this group of believers to be firmly rooted in their young faith.
