About Us
We’re a community of people following the life and teachings of Jesus, whom we believe to be the One and Only Son of God. We believe that Jesus himself is God and made that very plain while he was on the earth. After he was crucified and buried outside Jerusalem in Israel, we believe he was resurrected from the dead by the power of God’s Holy Spirit and forty days later ascended back into heaven where he had always existed before becoming a person like us. And we believe he’s coming back again and will rule over the Kingdom that he has been establishing for a couple thousand years now.
We follow the teachings of the Bible which we believe to be the written revelation of God’s truth to the world. So, we believe the issue in the world is that mankind has been separated from God because we’ve rebelled against the way God set things up to begin with. That’s called sin, and God said the punishment for sin is death – both physical death and eternal separation from him. But because of God’s great love for his creation, he sent Jesus to show us how to live in obedience to God and to take the punishment for our sin, even though he himself never sinned and did not deserve to be punished. So, that’s what Jesus did. Unlike us, he didn’t rebel against God; he submitted to what God wanted to do. That made peace between God and his creation, and that’s what followers of Jesus call grace. And this radical concept of grace is only found in Jesus’ life and teachings. Tibetan Buddhism does not teach this, nor does Islam or Hinduism for that matter.
